Read on for our suggestions.

Staying Organized

Life on the road sometimes has its perks—staying in hotels, dining out with clients—but for most sales reps any glamour quickly wears off when you realize how difficult it is to actually live your life out of a suitcase or car. Here are a few sales gadgets that can help you keep it all together.

  1. The Tile App

Tile is a great sales gadget for when you’re trying to get out the door in the morning. It’s a small, white plastic square that can be connected to your key ring or can fit in your wallet, purse, or briefcase. Tile uses location tracking services and connects via Bluetooth to an app that can be downloaded to any mobile device. If you lose your keys, you can open the Tile app on your phone to locate the Tile (and, by extension, your keys). By simply pressing a button on your Tile, the device can also find your phone.

  1. Electronic Luggage Tags

If you travel by air frequently, the possibility of losing your luggage is a serious problem. Fortunately, lost luggage could soon be a thing of the past, with electronic luggage tags. Rimowa has recently introduced a smart luggage tag that combines your identifying information with device tracking and a scannable e-ink screen to provide the ability to scan, track, and find your luggage more easily. So far, the only airline that supports the technology is Lufthansa, making this a sales gadget best suited for sales reps that travel internationally. However, United Airlines is testing the product and could make announcements in the near future about supporting the device.

Anywhere Office

One of the biggest disadvantages of life on the road is not having access to the tools you need to do business when you’re with a client. Fortunately, the followingsales gadgets can help you continue doing business, no matter where you happen to be.

  1. HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile All-in-One

If your typical day at the office is spent sitting in your car, the HP OfficeJet 250 is the mobile printer for you. It’s a little heavy, so it’s not great for those road warriors who travel by air. However, if you’re working out of your car, this is one device that can print, scan, and copy that you need.

  1. Nexus 6P

Now, here’s a cool sales gadget. If you are like many sales people who have multiple mobile devices, you’ve probably experienced those moments when the file you need on your mobile phone happens to be on your tablet. Or vice versa. The Nexus 6P is a solution to that problem. It’s a phone that’s also a tablet—they’re called “phablets”—or two devices in one. Phablets are the next big thing in mobile computing, allowing users to consolidate the number of devices they’re using and “travel light.”

Staying Connected

Mobile devices have changed the game for most sales reps, allowing them to stay in touch with the people that matter, whether it’s clients, or friends and family. But when you’re on the road, it can sometimes be a challenge to get connected. These sales gadgets can help:

  1. Brunton Power Knife

It’s a pain to carry multiple cables on every trip. And who hasn’t accidentally left one behind in a hotel room or at home? The Brunton Power Knife is the Swiss Army Knife of mobile device chargers. You can get a Power Knife that can charge both iPhone and iPad using Lightning or 30-pin connectors, or you can get one for Android with a microUSB charger port. Both Power Knives also contain a regular USB port for your laptop and a power connection.

  1. D-Link AC750 Portable Charger and Router

This is another one of those great sales gadgets that saves space in your luggage and solves two problems at once. Running out of battery power, being out of range of WiFi, and security issues of using public WiFi are some of the biggest challenges road warriors face when it comes to staying connected. The D-Link AC750 Portable Charger and Router solves these issues. Its rechargeable battery charges a smartphone or tablet, and its wireless router that creates a Wi-Fi hotspot from a 3G or 4G connection or turn a public Wi-Fi hotspot into a secure private network.

Whether it’s allowing sales reps to take the office with them on the road to staying connected with customers and the home office no matter where the day takes them, these sales gadgets will help sales reps sell more products, more easily while still making time for themselves.
