Real HousewivesNow, I’m not a frequent TMZ reader, but over the weekend, I spotted an article about TV network Bravo’s efforts to shut down a website it says sullies the reputation of its series “The Real Housewives.”

The site hosted at the domain name RealHousewivesOfScottsdale.com hosts X-rated webcam performances by other “real” housewives (though the veracity of that statement is open to speculation). Although it does not have a “Real Housewives of Scottsdale” incarnation of the show, it is understandable that Bravo would want to take down a porn site using a similar name to its series. Plus, the network has a trademark for “The Real Housewives.” What’s curious, though, is that Bravo does not own the domain names RealHousewivesOfNewJersey.com and RealHousewivesOfAtlanta.com; New Jersey and Atlanta are both versions of the series, along with New York and Orange County.

In fact, Bravo does not even own the domain name Bravo.com. That domain currently points to a survey site. Bravo uses BravoTV.com.

And of course, it’s up for debate whether or not a porn site could sully the “Real Housewives” reputation more than the housewives themselves.
