The Apple Mac 1 Computer is very hard to find since it was discontinued in 1977, with only 6 working Mac 1 computers left in the world today. You can guess how valuable these rare antiques are, but when one is signed by Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple, it’s easy to understand why someone paid over 500,000 euros for it in Germany earlier this year.

The Apple Mac 1 Computer

The Apple Mac 1 computer was first released in 1976 after having been created by co-founders, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in Steve Jobs’ parent’s garage! Now that is definitely something that should surely be classed as the eighth wonder of the world.

The only thing we know about the buyer is that they are from Asia. The buyer has remained anonymous since purchasing the Apple Mac 1 computer signed by Steve Wozniak in May 2013. We’re curious about what the buyer plans to do with this prized computer. If it were me, I would display it in a special room dedicated just to the Apple Mac 1.

In 20102, an Apple Mac 1 computer without the Wozniak signature sold for 490,000 euros which isn’t really that far off this sale. The buyer of the signed Apple Mac 1 computer got a good deal as far this goes.

Apple Mac 1 computers where quite rare even when actively on the market as only around 200 computers were ever sold. The Apple Mac 1 computer was only in production for about 1 from 1976 to 1977. Only 46 remain in existence but as we said before, only 6 are in working order.

Bob Luther, author of The First Apple, called the Apple 1 the “holy grail of collectable technology” – and I agree with him!
