Are you scratching your head wondering how to get people to share your posts?
Sharing a post can mean a person can share your posts through social media, emailing, writing about it, linking to it, basically any way they can tell others about your post. But how the hell do you get them to take action?
This is a personal stamp of approval and is the new word of mouth that has engulfed the internet. Social signals they say, good old fashioned word of mouth, I say.
So how do you get people to share your posts?
#1. Write Awesome Shareable Content
To get people to share your posts, the content has to be awesome in the first place, that is, awesome to THEM. People never share stuff and say “hey check this out, it is just crap”. Well I have seen it, but most want to share valuable information only.
I find the best way to come up with awesome quality content is to actually incorporate your own ideas into your articles. Many people now days wrote articles like robots and there is no personality or original ideas to be seen.
#2. Add Sharing Buttons
How can anyone share your content if there is no option to do so? Of course the person could always copy the url of your article and share that, but hey, that is just too much effort. I do not believe you need every possible sharing button on earth, but I do believe you need to install social media buttons that suit your niche.
#3. Write Awesome Titles
I wrote recently about how important blog post titles are and they also count in this case. People want to be cool and share cool stuff. Having an amazing title to your posts will only encourage them to share.
Here are some awesome titled posts that I know will temp you to click on and then share:

- Building A Million-Dollar Business from A Mere $100 Investment
- Your Blog Sucks – The Ugly Truth about You and Your Precious Blog

#4. Appeal to Emotions
People are reading your article because they are interested in the topic, but that does not mean they will automatically share your content. You need to appeal to their emotions in order for them to take action.
Sadness, happiness, hope.
Write content that people can relate to, content that makes people feel something, content that sparks the imagination.
I love it when I am reading something and it makes me smile or even cry. Words are very powerful and if you can trigger an emotion in your reader, they will be running for the share buttons, I guarantee.
#5. Ask Them To Share?
This is one good way to get people to share your posts. Ask them with a picture like this!
You can’t just say “Hey you! Click this share button or else!” You can ask politely though.
Hey you, can you please click my buttons?
