The Millennials of the workforce, born after 1980, value purpose over profit. 78% of Millennials feel innovation is essential for business growth and 66% feel innovation is a critical requirement when choosing a potential employer. However, only half of Millennials feel their current work environment helps them to be innovative. Traditional business models that are not conducive to innovation are leading to high levels of job dissatisfaction for this group. Socialcast presents the data from Deloitte’s Millennial Survey in the infographic SlideShare seen here.

A highly socialized generation, Millennials want their voices heard. 42% seek leaders that encourage sharing new ideas, regardless of seniority. Aside from what Millennials want, the most innovative companies are also seeing the largest growth in revenue, not to mention employee loyalty. Companies who encourage their Millennials’ desires to be creative, not only keep their employees happy, but perform 3x better than their less-innovative competitors over 5 years.
