Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal dated for a brief time and was widely speculated to be the sole inspiration behind her popular hit song “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”. Reportedly, the former couple didn’t end things on the best of terms, so one may think it awkward for them to be in the same room together at the awards show after party.

After supporting her close pal Lorde, Swift and her entourage of friends went to a private after party that was thrown by the Golden Globes hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler at the Chateau Marmont. New reports suggest that Swift had a bit of a meltdown when bumping into her ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal.

Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal dating for roughly two months in 2011 and it was rumored that she gave her virginity to him. The actor was said to be in attendance at the same after party and was seen dancing with several different women.

A source at the scene said, “She wasn’t dancing. But I saw her grab her friend’s hand and repeat, ‘We have to go. We have to go.’ The four girls [Cara Delevingne, Dakota Johnson and Rita Ora] were together and Taylor was having a mini meltdown. Cara’s arm was around Taylor, calming her down as Rita looked on. They were talking extremely closely.”

Swift has previously revealed that she would have to find quite the man to make her consider wanting to date again in the near future. She revealed in a recent interview, “I’m not going to compromise the happiness and independence that I’ve found for just anybody. The idea of a date gives me a partial panic attack! It would take an astonishing human for me to even consider getting back into a relationship. It would take something really, really, really, really different – a king of a one-in-a-million person for me to face all that. I don’t have any kind of idea who I’d want to be with, because I don’t have any pieces missing from my life right now. I’m not looking for anything to complete. I think that’s a nice place to be.”

Swift has also talked in the past about staying single so that no one gets hurt. She revealed, “I don’t have anyone whose feelings are on the line except for me. If I was in love with someone right now, I don’t know how I would handle everyone else weighing in on our stories, because when you’re in a relationship there are a lot of secrets and a lot of sacred moments that you don’t want to divulge.”

Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal have long been over and the pop singer has most recently been linked to The 1975’s Matt Healy. A source told People that Swift and Gyllenhaal actually did bump into each other at the event, but they both played it pretty cool. Classy, no?
