Kicking off the semi-finals are Mirai Nagasu and Alan Bersten, dancing the quickstep to “Bo$$” by Fifth Harmony. Nagasu chose her mother as her MVP.
Guest judge David Ross calls Nagasu a boss, while Len Goodman says she “came out all guns blazing.” He warns her, however, to watch her posture. Bruno Tonioli compares the dance to a firefly and Carrie Ann Inaba says Nagasu is on a roll. They score a 35.

Nagasu is an Olympic figure skater. According to ABC, Nagasu “was one of the youngest competitors to win a national title in 2008 and remarkably has remained one of the top competitors in the world today. Mirai earned a spot to represent the U.S. in the 2018 Olympics at the age of 24, where she made history by becoming the first American woman to land a triple Axel in an Olympic Winter Games. She performed the difficult three-and-a-half revolution jump, helping Team USA win a bronze medal in the Olympic team event.”
“Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” is hosted by Tom Bergeron and sports broadcaster Erin Andrews. The judging panel is composed of ballroom experts Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. Their scores, along with America’s votes, determine who gets to stay and who is sent home as couples vie for the coveted Mirrorball trophy during the special, four-week season.
The remaining athletes include Olympic figure skaters Adam Rippon and Mirai Nagasu, luger Chris Mazdzer, softball pitcher Jennie Finch, NFL star Josh Norman and former figure skater Tonya Harding.
The finale of this season’s all-athlete edition of “Dancing with the Stars” airs next Monday at 8 p.m. on ABC.
