Importance of creating online content

Haven’t you heard? Content marketing is all the rage! Over the past many years, the Internet has generated an endless pool of information sources, from hard-hitting, objective news to entertainment reads, to personal voice outlets. A little heavier on the entertainment and personal side but in the last couple of years there has been a significant push for strategically written content that will draw a targeted online audience. Sometimes this can be well-researched and very informative, with a focus on educating or enlightening the reader. Just watch out for sales spiels!

We live in an age where information is money. If you create something of value for your target market, they will return the favour and without hesitation, spread the word. And content marketing is becoming one of the most important ways brands can engage and influence their audience. Just remember to create good/valuable content that is informative and not self-promoting. Brands should position themselves as knowledgeable and expert sources. It’s about building trust and positioning your brand as an leader in the industry, saying something unique/of value and sharing other relevant news (and not just your own).
