Ever wonder how to automatically add your old or new YouTube videos to a playlist? I found myself wasting too much time adding each individual video to my playlists that when I stumbled across this auto add feature I had to let you know!

This week’s #SocialMediaMinute will cover how to auto add YouTube videos to a playlist.

Keep in mind, this feature only works for video content you’ve uploaded and does not automatically add other users’ uploaded videos to a playlist you’ve created.

How to Automatically Add YouTube Videos to a Playlist

First, go to your playlists from your YouTube creator dashboard. Then, find the playlist settings. Next, click on the auto add tab. This is where you can set rules for videos to be added to your chosen playlist automatically. New videos that meet any of these rules will also be added automatically, which is great!

Adding rules is easy, simply click on add rule, then create one. Keep in mind you can also add more than one rule to refine your list.

Once complete, click save and you can then choose to add your recent videos that match your new rules into the playlist . This can save you a lot of time especially if you have numerous videos not currently in playlists.

Takeaway

YouTube’s auto add feature is really just a big time saver and when it comes to managing social media time is a valuable thing. Placing your videos in relevant playlists also helps audience retention on your channel and may get more of your content seen. Playlists also appear in search results so make sure to take additional time optimizing playlist titles and descriptions.
