Amanda Bynes has released another statement on the heels of her threats against her family, claiming she is “trying to get better,” even though she doesn’t detail any approach to this effort.

In an audio tape released by TMZ on Saturday, Bynes was heard saying she had dreams of killing her father. In the tape, she mentioned wanting to cut her father’s wrists and “lead him into a ditch,” among other alarming details. She stated she hasn’t figured out exactly how she wants to kill him, then followed that up with “I don’t believe in murder.” Bynes also mentioned that she called her mother and threatened to kill her during the confused rant.

In a second tape from TMZ, Bynes goes on a separate rant about prettiness and other nonsensical topics, telling her friend at one point “You’re so gay it hurts my feelings,” whatever that means.

Bynes has since spoken out regarding these recordings. Via her attorney, Bynes released a statement to Access Hollywood, saying “I’m sorry I trusted people who clearly were not my friends and capitalized on my illness,” and “I am doing my best to get better. I am truly sorry for the statements I made. I am sorry for any pain I caused my family and others.”

Bynes of course hopped on Twitter to discuss the tapes and her current state of mind as well, saying “By the way – i was obviously joking about hurting my family – i straight-up don’t believe in harming a soul,” and “I said what I said in jest & if you don’t understand that then know I’m in therapy to talk about my dad issues and that will solve my concerns with ppl invading my private life.”

The never-ending saga of Amanda Bynes and her psychological well being doesn’t appear to be getting any better, despite the fact she says she is trying to get better.
