Nick and Vanessa Lachey have welcomed a baby girl. The couple already have 2-year-old son Camden John. The baby was born on Monday, Jan. 5 and is named Brooklyn Elisabeth Lachey.
Vanessa announced the news via her website.
“She’s HERE!!!! Nick, Camden and I are SO excited to announce the birth of our sweet, beautiful baby girl, Brooklyn Elisabeth Lachey! She was born January 5th, 2015 at 5:17pm. She weighed in at 7 pounds 15 ounces, is 21 inches long and has already won over all of our hearts. I have been dreaming of this moment for as long as I can remember, the day I was going to meet my little girl. A friend recently told me how magical today was going to be because it’s the day I would meet my best friend. I can’t even begin to tell you how it felt to hold her in my arms for the very first time. Mommy, Daddy and big brother Cam love you so much already, Brooklyn! Thank you to everyone for your love and support, it means so much to our family.”
Vanessa also shared the baby news on Instagram.
Nick and Vanessa Lachey, now parents of a girl, have spoken of Camden getting used to being a big brother.
The singer told E! News, “We’ve definitely gone over the fact that, ‘Hey, baby sister is in mommy’s belly,’ and he’ll kiss the belly, so I think he understands what baby sister means and that that’s happening. But I think the truth test is when she arrives and all the attention’s not just on him! We’ll see how he reacts at that point!”
Nick, who recently opened a sports bar with brother Drew Lachey in Cincinnati, was previously married to Jessica Simpson, whom he split with in 2005. In his interview with Jenny McCarthy in November, he replied to the former “View” co-host’s question during her SiriusXM show “Dirty, Sexy, Funny” show.
“How happy are you that you didn’t have a baby with Jessica?” McCarthy boldly asked.
Nick said, “In our situation, that was probably the best thing that could have ever happened that we didn’t have kids. And look, you’re always going to love your kids no matter how you feel about their other parent, but all things being equal, it was the best thing probably for both of us that we went on with our lives. She’s obviously happily married with two and I’m happily married and about to have two so it all worked out the way it was kind of meant to work out.”
Congrats to Nick and Vanessa Lachey who have welcomed their baby girl!
