Idina Menzel has been slated to sing the National Anthem at the upcoming Super Bowl XLIX.

The NFL announced this morning that the Frozen star will sing the National Anthem before the Super Bowl kicks off on February 1 at The University of Pheonix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The game will be telecast this year on NBC. The official Super Bowl Twitter account also confirmed Menzel’s performance:

As the tweet mentions, Grammy winner John Legend will join Idina Menzel and sing “America the Beautiful” at Super Bowl XLIX.

Before hitting superstardom with her role in Disney’s Frozen, Idina Menzel was a noted broadway star. She appeared in Rent and earned a Tony nomination in 1996. In 2004, she won a Tony for her role in Wicked.

This weekend, the final four NFL teams will square off for a chance to play in Super Bowl XLIX. In the NFC, The Green Bay Packers play the Seattle Seahwaks, who are making their second consecutive trip to the NFC Championship Game. Over in the AFC, the New England Patriots face off against the Indianapolis Colts in Foxboro, Massachusetts. This is Patriots’ QB Tom Brady’s ninth trip to the AFC Championship, and it is Colts’ QB Andrew Luck’s debut in the AFC Championship Game.

Idina Menzel will bring in a much younger crowd to the Super Bowl XLIX telecast, at least in the opening moments. Despite being a Broadway star for nearly twenty years, Menzel’s Frozen stardom has her a fan favorite among younger fans of the cartoon.
