Gary Oldman is getting a divorce for the fourth time. Alexandra Edenborough, whom he married on New Year’s Eve in 2008, filed papers on Jan. 9 in Los Angeles.

According to RadarOnline.com, the 56-year-old “Dark Knight” actor is being asked to pay for spousal support and the singer-songwriter’s attorney fees. Edenborough, 36, also requested for Oldman not to get spousal support.

Oldman was optimistic on marriage last February. He told The Independent, “Practice makes perfect. Isn’t that what they say? I’m not proud that this is my fourth marriage. But this is a good one. Hopefully, my last one.”

He also spoke on fatherhood.

“I’ve been married, or re-married I should say, for five years but I was a single dad for 10. That’s just the way it happened. I have two kids to raise. Being a single dad has been the most challenging thing I’ve ever done; the hardest thing I have ever done. And so I look at those boys and how really great they are, and they are my greatest accomplishment. That gives me a sense of, you know, I’ve got something right. I take great joy and peace from that. It helps me sleep at night knowing that hopefully they’re going to be OK.”

The “Paranoia” star’s last marriage was to Donya Fiorentino. Oldman was accused of hitting her during a fight in May 2001. According to a police report, she claimed that Oldman attacked her with a phone and choked her. He denied that ever happened. They have two sons, Gulliver and Charlie, of whom Oldman was later granted sole custody.

Oldman got a divorce from Uma Thurman too. In 1990 he married the actress, only to split with her two years later. His first wife was English actress Lesley Manville. They tied the knot in 1987 and ended their marriage in 1989. The two have a son named Alfie.

When Oldman and Edenborough were rumored to be engaged, they attended the  premiere of Brad Pitt’s film “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” together. At the time Oldman’s agent confirmed their marriage soon after stating, “They were married in Santa Barbara. I was best man.”

The actor has been blunt in interviews. Last June he spoke about meeting fans.

He stated, “I’ve learned over the years that people get upset when they tell you something is their favorite movie and you go, ‘Really? You liked that piece of s—?'”

He also talked about kids these days sharing, “Kids honestly believe they are the center of the f—–g universe. But then they get out into the real world and it’s like, ‘S—, maybe it’s not all about me,’ and that leads to narcissism, depression and anxiety.”

Oldman getting a divorce is not a surprise. Do you think he will get married again?
