Bollywood actor and host of ongoing TV show Satyamev Jayate (SMJ) is not happy these days with a defamatory campaign against him on social networking site Facebook. The actor has registered a complaint with the Mumbai police since the campaign as “malicious messages are wrong and baseless” according to Aamir.

The defamatory campaign was being run by the Facebook page named as AwakIND (page no more active), where it had stated that the donations that Satyamev Jayate collects via the show to support humanitarian causes with the help of NGOs are being misused.

As per the message posted by the Facebook page, it said that when at the end of every show, Aamir asks for donations for Humanity Trust, the money is used for masjid construction assistance and placement assistance for Muslim youth. In other words, the page admins were giving a communal angle to the social work being done by Aamir and Star TV.

Aamir met Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria and Joint commissioner (law and order) Sadanand Date over the weekend. Besides Aamir also made his stand clear on his Facebook page about the false campaign that was defaming him and the television show Satyamev Jayate which has brought up social sensitive issues such as female feticide, domestic violence, child abuse, rape among others for discussion on TV and making an attempt to reduce such atrocities from society.

His Facebook page which attracts about 11 million fans, seems to have got a healthy response on his post regarding the defamatory campaign.

The Cyber Cell of the Crime Bureau who had been looking into the case, seems to have shown their good work. The Facebook page is no more active on the social networking site.
