Teacher’s salaries are a widely debated topic in the U.S. As a whole, many believe they are underpaid — partially because of No Child Left Behind, partially because their role in society is drastically underappreciated.

Salaries for High School Teachers by State | StartClass

In some respects, high school teachers have one of the toughest jobs in America. While they’re trying to get a bunch of teenagers to listen to what they have to say about the French Revolution and subordinate clauses, insubordination often ensues.

However, there are some cities where high school teachers earn far more than the average American. StartClass compiled all the public data available on educators’ salaries and found 23 cities where high school teachers are paid the most.

Of course, if someone is going into the education field, it’s likely that money isn’t their top priority. But raking in some extra dough sure does help to combat the frustration of having to deal with a pubescent bad boy or mean girl.
