Twitter Facebook LinkedIn Flipboard 0 Lego announced that it would launch a new set based on “The Simpsons” in 2014. The new set will be released early next year and will start with a few small editions and would expand based on demand. The new set is to “appeal to fans of ‘The Simpsons’ family” according to company spokesman Road Rude Trangbaek, but he did not offer any further clues about what will be featured from the series. Although the long-awaited set was announced Monday, there are some Lego fans who said they would be boycotting the new set since it was not “age appropriate”. On Lego forums, some are calling for a petition to be signed preventing “The Simpsons” Lego set to be released. The main cause for concern is that the new set will not be appropriate for Lego’s audience, but as others have argued Lego already makes sets aimed specifically at adults. Some these sets include the more popular lines such as Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and The Marvel/DC Super Heroes series.
