It’s been a busy day for the Google Analytics team as they made two big announcements today.  The first for a long overdue feature, real-time tracking, and the second for a new paid, enterprise version of the product called Google Analytics Premium.

Real-Time Analytics

In the first blog post for Real-Time Analytics, Google reveals that the new feature is ideal for measuring social media impact and tracking campaigns before and after they’re launched faster.

Real-Time Analytics

Real-Time will only be found in the new version of Google Analytics, and will be accessible to Administrators or those with access to profiles without filters set up.  Real-Time will also not work with profile filters.  It should be rolling out to users over the coming weeks.

Google Analytics Premium

Citing it necessary to meet the needs of it’s largest customers, Google also announced today an entirely new product – Google Analytics Premium.  Emphasizing more data, advanced tools, dedicated support and guarantees, Analytics Premium includes:

  • “Extra processing power – increased data collection, more custom variables and downloadable, unsampled reports
  • Advanced analysis – attribution modeling tools that allow you to test different models for assigning credit to conversions
  • Service and support – experts to guide customized installation, and dedicated account management on call – all backed by 24/7 support
  • Guarantees – service level agreements for data collection, processing and reporting”

Available only in the US, Canada, and the UK you can purchase Analytics Premium directly from Google or through an authorized resellers.  Doing a little digging, we found the price of Analytics Premium through a reseller at $150,000 per year!  Keep in mind that includes some of their service pricing, but it’s definitely an enterprise level product.  Good thing there is still a great free version that just got even better today.
