Staten Island Still Recovering From Hurricane Sandy

So Hurricane Sandy hit New York City rather hard. Between flooding train stations, knocking out power to lower Manhattan and devastating Father Capodanno Boulevard in Staten Island — it was the perfect storm.

I took this photograph down by 1 Edgewater Street. This section of Clifton/Rosebank was hit rather hard. Not only was Bay Street — literally — an extension of the Narrows. But there was a water tanker parked on Edgewater for a few weeks after the Hurricane.

So here we are months later and parts of Edgewater still look like this. Why — I have no clue. But if you travel further down the Narrows there is construction going on. I hear that 300 homes are going up. Maybe they will fix this forgotten section of Edgewater.
