On Midland Beach Lost in a Sea of Sand and Debris

Staten Island, NY – Midland Beach. Days after Hurricane Sandy.

The Story

As I walked down Midland Beach. I saw more and more debris on the beach. But none was more impactful than this boat. It was marooned. Lost. With its owner — having no idea of the fate of his boat. I know very little of boats. But this one looks like a beauty. And hopefully she will find her way back to her captain.

I wonder after a natural disaster like Hurricane Sandy. How do people begin to put their lives back together? And how do they find their lost things?
