Location
I took this photo from the Staten Island Ferry Terminal. This is the Statue of Liberty Ellis Island Liberty IV Boat.
Workflow
There is no real backstory on this photograph. It was simply a slow day for me. And I did not have a chance to shot anything. So as I am waiting for the Staten Island Ferry, I caught a glimpse at this ferry.
Well it’s really not a ferry. It’s the boat that ferries folks — employees I think — between Ellis Island and Manhattan. I rarely see more than a 1/2 a dozen people on the boat. Access is controlled by a checkpoint that is manned by the Coast Guard.
I wanted this picture to be a HDR photo but it just did not work out that way. I felt like this photo was best taken as a single exposure. I think it was a good choice.
Question
Have you found yourself taking photographs of random — people, places or things? If so were you surprised that the photo actually looked rather good?
