Early Morning On NYC's Verrazano Narrows

This is a single exposure capture taken from the starboard (right) of Staten Island Ferry. The Upper Bay is normally teaming with boats of various sizes. These ships carry all sorts of cargo — clothes, garbage, cars, etc. And some simply sit in the Bay dredging.

This particular boat was simply docked in the Upper Bay. Perhaps waiting for its next cargo run? Or is the crew simply taking a well deserved coffee break?

No matter the reason why the boat sits anchored. There is an undeniable urge to sit top side (the ship’s main weather deck) with that cup of coffee. And enjoy the sunrise.
