After seeing the new Steve Jobs film, and Facebooking about it (with my iPhone) it was only right for me to continue my “Apple” support, and get a new toy!

Some of you may already know that I love technology and gadgets – I can’t help myself when it comes to the latest Apple toy! I have an iPhone, Macbook, Apple Watch and now the new Apple iPad Pro.

The first iPad was released on 3rd April 2010 and there have been 230 million iPads sold to date and this will continue to rise thanks to the new iPad Pro.

Is the iPad Pro a genuine Laptop replacement?

It really depends on what you are using it for. If you’re thinking of getting an iPad Pro as a laptop replacement, think very carefully. Even with a keyboard, an iPad won’t be able to do everything a Macbook can. Yes, you can use it as a Laptop but make sure you do your due diligence.

It may look like a direct rival to Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4 but it definitely isn’t. The iPad Pro is for the casual traveller who doesn’t need to, or isn’t going to be at their computer 24/7.

Apple said the following;

“iPad has always offered a uniquely simple yet immersive experience. And now with its expansive 12.9-inch Retina display, nearly double the CPU performance of iPad Air 2 and refined Multi-Touch technology, iPad Pro adds another dimension to that experience. It’s not just larger. It’s an iPad that lets you be more creative and more productive — at a whole new scale.”

iPad Pro Features

The iPad Pro is much bigger than the usual tablet size at 12.9-inch display which makes it excellent for watching movies, playing games and reading books. Unique to this specific iPad is the four speakers in the corners of the device offering a more powerful sound.

The iPad Pro weighs 713g and is difficult to hold in one hand. Whilst it doesn’t have the same PPI as an iPhone 6S Plus, it is a retina display product that is bright and colourful.

One of the new and unique features for the iPad Pro is the Apple Pencil. It is a smooth white plastic stylus that has a rubberised tip. Depending on the angle you use it at, the pressure used will give you different results. This does cost £79 but it is something extra special to go with your iPad Pro. You charge the Apple Pencil by inserting the end off and stick in it the lightening port of the iPad Pro.

My favourite addition to the Apple selection of products is the Smart Keyboard. The keys are covered in an easy to clean fabric material, and makes typing easier than ever before.

I won’t go into too much detail around the other features (as there are so many) but if you are interested in reading more about the new iPad Pro, see the Apple website here.

Why I’m Getting One

I have decided to invest in an iPad Pro because not only do I love technology, I also appreciate a great piece of equipment when I see it. It is lightweight with great battery, good for taking video’s and pictures as well as multi-tasking.

I can use the iPad Pro whilst in meeting with clients to draw marketing funnels, type important emails whilst travelling around London and not have to worry about the added weight of carrying a Macbook.

I have purchased the iPad Pro with 3G with the Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil. If Steve Jobs was here today, he would be very proud to see how Apple are still revolutionising technology.
