Nintendo has confirmed details surrounding the launch of its glasses-free 3D gaming console, Nintendo 3DS.
According to reports from PCMag, Nintendo announced Tuesday that the Nintendo 3DS will support 18 games when it launches on March 27. The price of a system will be $250 and consumers will have the option of also purchasing three Nintendo published games for $39.99 each, the titles including Pilotwings Resort, Steel Diver, and nintendogs + cats. Numerous third party games will also be available, such as Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, The Sims 3, and Madden NFL Football.
The Nintendo 3DS will also come with a variety of games, applications, and features. Among these features is a camera that will allow the user to take 2D and 3D photos. The system also features six augmented reality cards.
USA Today reports that later this year, the wildly popular The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Starfox 64 will also be released. Furthermore, a total of 30 games will reportedly be available for the system between its March 27 launch and the June Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. The system is expected to play almost every game in the Nintendo DS collection except games that require the GameBoy Advance slot.
