Hopefully, you’ve started your business because you believe it can be successful. Think about what success would look like if you accomplished all of your goals in the future.

What would that mean for your company? What position or honor would that give your organization?

Write down your definition of success for your company.

3. Keep the Message Clear.

Vision statements are short. It is likely impossible to include everything you hope to do in a sentence or two. A good practice is to identify one primary goal, instead of trying to scatter ideas and goals throughout your vision.

In addition to clarity, put a timeline on your vision. Make sure you know at what point in the future you will achieve your vision.

  • Drive innovation and change.

Describe your spark. The true “why” behind what you do. For this step, it is helpful to think about why your company was founded in the first place.
