Success is addictive. Once you get on a roll, you don’t want to stop. You crave the profits and the euphoric feeling of being better than someone else. Addiction doesn’t have to be a negative aspect of your small business. Hone in on those addictive practices and make something incredible out of them. Here are ways you can be addicted to success:
Improve Organization – Have a plan for scheduling meetings. Make sure this information is shared with all necessary employees. The last thing you need is for your time to be overscheduled. Be present and more in tune with each task you take on by making sure adequate time is set aside so your full focus can be on that event.
Sync Up – There are so many options for syncing up your systems including Google Gadget, Evernote, MailChimp and Outlook. No matter what system you are familiar with and prefer using, there is an application to help you; you just have to be open to finding it. Technology exists so one person doesn’t have to do it all. Become the multitasking champion but letting the technology work for you instead of against you.
Mobile, mobile, mobile – If you don’t have a smartphone or tablet for your business use, you simply aren’t pushing for excellence. There are so many things mobile devices can assist you with as a small business owner. Track everything on the go. Get quick access to your calendars or customer information. Have a dashboard available with real time information viewable when you need it most.
Creativity – Are you at a loss for what your next project will be? Do you have a pipeline ready for when the success starts to slow? Keep the creative juices flowing constantly with a shared workspace for each employee to input ideas. Bounce concepts off of each other virtually. It takes many minds to think of the best new products, don’t put yours to waste.
Social Train – Social media has developed into a world no one thought it would ever be. It is something Mark Zuckerberg could have only dreamed of. Get involved. This is a train you WANT to be on. Everybody who is anybody has at least one social media page. You should have at least one too – LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, Klout, Picasa. There are enough options out there that you will definitely find on that works for you and boosts your business.
Addiction is so often seen as a negative thing. “He’s addicted to work,” is what they all say. Prove them right. Be addicted to work but be addicted in the best possible way. Make your work do all the work for you so your addiction brings you success. With automation, synchronization, and on-the-go technology, you have the power to hone in your addiction, be the best and step back and relax all at the same time.
