Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence, and we’re all to blame.

Well, not really. In an interview with Radio 1 Breakfast Show host Nick Grimshaw, the 24-year-old actress said that she has been conspicuously absent from the popular social network simply because she doesn’t see the appeal.

“I cannot really keep up with emails so the idea of Twitter is so unthinkable to me. I don’t really understand what it is, it’s like this weird enigma that people talk about.”

Additionally, anyone crossing their fingers hoping Jennifer Lawrence will join Twitter will be waiting for a long, long time.

“It’s fine I respect that but no, I’ll never get Twitter.”

Back to the part that’s our fault (we, the undersigned people of the Internets), JLaw implied that the recent “Fappening” controversy is a major reason why, when it comes to the Internet, she chooses to remain dark.

“Because the internet has scorned me so much, I feel like it’s that girl in high school that I’m like ‘Oh you want to talk about her? Yeah I’ll do that’. Take my hoops off, I’m ready to go.”

She also issued a warning to her fans searching social media for her profiles:

“If you ever see a Facebook, Instagram or Twitter that says it’s me, it most certainly is not me.”

In September, the private photos of dozens of A-list celebrities were leaked online by a group of hackers in an event dubbed “The Fappening” by Internet users. Several nude photos of Lawrence, presumably taken when she was in a relationship with actor Nicholas Hoult, were published in the leaks.

Lawrence described it the leaks as a “sexual violation,” and called for laws to be enacted which would hold websites like 4chan and reddit accountable for such hacks.

Yeah, JLaw, I’d stay off Twitter too.
