We all have silly excuses for not starting a business. We might think we don’t have enough time or money. But sometimes, you need to take charge and make a move – you have to take action. Yes, you may be short on time or cash, but if you don’t try your startup idea, how will you ever know if it will succeed?

I’ve been running businesses for quite a while now – I’ve experienced every single emotion under the sun (except child birth, but that’s not really an emotion – more of a traumatic experience.) I wanted to write a book recounting my experience and telling everyone how startup business really is. So I did.

Some days I go home feeling elated because I’ve closed a big deal or done something great. Other days I go home feeling a bit depressed – but fulfilled at the same time. No other occupation in the world will leave you experiencing such a range of emotions on a daily basis. When startup business is good, boy it’s good. When it’s bad though, it feels like the bottom has fallen out of your world.

I’ve become a bit bored of reading books by “gurus” – most of who had never run a business in their lives. I have also become bored of reading those ghost-written abominations with celebrity mug shots pasted all over them. Do you really think multi-millionaire, celebrity entrepreneurs write their own books?

I might not be the CEO of a Fortune 500 company – or the presenter of a business-based reality TV show, but that doesn’t mean my startup experience isn’t as valuable as that of the biggest names in business. In fact, you’re likely to learn more about startup business from a regular Joe like me.

It may have taken me over a year to find the motivation to write my first startup business book, but it was well worth it – the response and feedback I’ve received has been overwhelming. It seems I’ve struck a chord with a few people that have read my book – they really like it.

One of the best pieces of feedback I’ve received so far was from a journalist – he said my book was more the “kick up the arse that ditherers need” as opposed to a comprehensive checklist for success. So, if you’re a “ditherer”, lingering on the periphery of startup business and entrepreneurship, read my book! It’ll whet your appetite.

The book I’ve written is called 10 Secrets for Successful Startups – I wrote it under a pen name. You can download a copy of my book for your Kindle device completely free on the following dates:
