For a team off to its worst start in franchise history and mired in last place in the Pacific Division, Nick Young doesn’t appear to suffer from a lack of self-esteem.

And indeed, since Young returned to the Los Angeles Lakers lineup from a hand injury, the team has won two in a row and are finally showing signs of perhaps having life.

“It’s all about my swag,” Young said of the team’s mini-streak. “I can’t take all of the credit. That’s a part of my repertoire.”

In his two games back, Young has averaged 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds.

“I leave a presence. I’m like Michael Jackson, Prince, all of those other guys,” said Iggy Azalea’s boyfriend. “I’m just talking about how I just walk off.”

A native Californian now in his eighth NBA season, Young has spent the last two in L.A. where he averaged a career-high 17.9 points last season to go along with 2.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists.

The 6-7 Young scored 17 points on 6-10 shooting and grabbed five rebounds in the team’s 114-109 win over Atlanta. He followed that up with 16 points and four rebounds in a 98-92 win over the much despised Dwight Howard and the Houston Rockets.

The Lakers will need all that and more if they are to rescue themselves from their 3-9 start. The Lakers face the Mavericks, Grizzlies and Raptors in three of their next five games. All three of those teams made the playoffs last season.

The Lakers signed Young to a four-year $21.5 million last summer, only for him to suffer a complete tear of his radial collateral ligament in his right thumb during training camp. He missed the team’s first 10 games this season.

The younger cousin of rap star Kendrick Lamar, Young and Azalea have been dating since 2013.
