NFL Picks Week 3 Against the Spread.

The first 2 weeks of the season are behind us and now we have a big week ahead of us. This week the Vegas Insiders who have a winning percentage of 73% so far this season through the first two weeks of the National Football League season. Below are the previews for the Green Bay Packers Cincinnati Bengals, Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens, Oakland Raiders vs. Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, and Indianapolis Colts vs. San Francisco 49ers.

Green Bay Packers vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Both of these teams are 1-1 and even on the road the Packers are the 2.5-point betting favorite. Green Bay poured on the offense in this last game in which QB Aaron Rodgers passed for 480 yards and 4 TD. However, their defense has struggled this season ranking 30th in pass D and 17th in rushing D.

The Bengals are a well-balanced team that is coming off a win over the Steelers on Monday night. WR A.J. Green is a player that the suspect Green Bay secondary really has to keep tabs on, as he is averaging 13.5 yards per catch. The Packers have failed to cover the spread in 4 of their last 5 road games.

Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens

The defending Super Bowl champion Ravens have not looked good to start this season getting blown out in their season opener and only mustering 2 TD in their 14-6 win over the Cleveland Browns in their last game. Their offense is struggling and star RB Ray Rice is banged up, but should play in this game, and has less than 80 rushing yards and is averaging only 2.9 yards per carry. Houston is the 1-point betting favorite in this AFC match up.

The Texans are at 2-0 and they rank in the top 10 in the league in passing and rushing offense and pass defense. WR’s Andre Johnson (222 yards) and rookie DeAndre Hopkins (183 yards 1 TD), who is averaging 15.3 yards per catch, will be a handful for the Baltimore secondary that was shredded by Payton Manning in the season opener.

Indianapolis Colts vs. San Francisco 49ers

Both teams lost their last games and while the Colts lost to the Dolphins the 49ers were embarrassed on Sunday night losing 29-3 to the Seahawks. The 49ers are 10-point betting favorites with a betting total of 46. The 49ers could not get any offense in the loss to the Seahawks, as they only had 107 passing yards and 100 rushing yards. It really did not help that they turned the ball over 5 times.

Colts ‘ QB Andrew Luck has already been picked off 3 times and the Indy defense has not looked good. With Frank Gore and the 49ers rushing offense the Colts and their 29th ranked run defense may be in trouble. The 49ers are 16-6-1 ATS in their last 23 home games.

Chicago Bears at Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are off to their first 0-2 start since 2002, but they are 3-point home betting favorites in this non-conference match up. Pittsburgh’s passing defense has been decent, but their offense has been stagnant and their run defense only ranks 25th in the league.

The Bears are 2-0 and they are a well-balanced team on both sides of the ball. Still the Bears are only 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games.

Oakland Raiders vs. Denver Broncos

Not a great marquee match up on Monday night where the 2-0 Broncos are big 14.5-point betting favorites against the 1-1 Raiders. Sure, the Raiders did win their last game, but it is against the Jaguars, who are the worst team in the league and has scored 11 points in their first 2 games.

The Oakland pass defense ranks 5th in the league and they will face Payton Manning, who already has 769 yards and 9 TD, and a deep Denver WR corps. The Raiders have actually covered the spread in 6 of their last 7 games facing the Broncos in Denver.
