With the last week of the season finally here it’s time to tally up the score cards for who had the most wins, who is taking home their fantasy football trophy, and most importantly who is taking home the big money thanks to a profitable season of betting. After adding it up here are the final records for weekly picks against the spread for the 2012 NFL season we have the top 3 finalists going into week 17 of the National Football League season:

1. CoopersPick.com – 64-28

2. Mike Rosen – 59-33

3. Chad Wilson – 44-39

This week there are a lot of excellent opportunities because every NFL team has two possibilities going into todays games. The first possibility is that they have to win or the season ends today. The other is that their destiny is already set and it’s a rest day. For those with rest days playing against a team fighting for a playoff spot makes everything all that much more interesting. In these cases you can find some excellent plays that are profitable.

Here are some picks and plays for this weeks games that offer excellent arbitrage opportunities:

Washington Redskins vs Dallas Cowboys. The current line for this game has the Skins as a 3.5 point favorite. If the Redskins win the game than they get into the playoffs if the Cowboys win than they get to keep their playoff hopes alive. The issue with this game is that RG III is still a little bit shaky coming off of his injury against the Baltimore Ravens a few weeks ago and they are playing on the road in Dallas. As of right now I like the Redskins -3.5 especially after seeing them dominate the Cowboys on Thanksgiving day.

St. Louis Rams vs Seattle Seahawks – The Rams are no longer hanging on by a thread and a prayer where the Seahawks have clinched the wild card spot. In this game I would expect to see Bradford looking to end the season with a strong statement but letting up in the second half and the Seahawks taking home an easy victory.

New York Giants vs Philadelphia Eagles Pick – Currently the line has moved to the Giants being favored by 7 points from an original 9 points when Michael Vick was the backup. Now that he is starting the line has shifted in the Eagles favor and after the Eagles have struggled late in the season and the Giants have all but fallen apart it will make for a very interesting matchup. If the line holds steady at -7 than look for the “sharps” to jump on the Eagles in this do or die game for New York in week 17.

Chicago Bears vs Detroit Lions Pick – The Bears are on the cusp and the Lions have ended another dismal season marred by the controversy of Jim Schwartz call on Thanksgiving day that cost them the game. Since Chicago has everything to lose and Detroit has nothing to lose and the bookmakers have marked the Lions as a 3 point underdog I love the Bears all day for this matchup. Hands down this is the game of the week in my opinion.
