UNC-Asheville goalkeeper Lassi Hurskainen’s takes on Angry Birds in his latest in a series of trick shot videos. Hurskainen and his teammate, Dan Jackson face off around Asheville’s campus to see who can eliminate the pigs — much like one does in the game, only this time, they’re using impressive soccer kicks.
Two stuffed Angry Birds pigs are hit with soccer balls from the tops of goal nets and posts; they’re kicked from their window perches and bleachers and other difficult-to-reach locations. What’s most impressive, however, is the fact that, in many cases, the person kicking the soccer ball (whether it’s Hurskainen or one of his soccer teammates) can’t see the target — or at least not well. The distance and precision of the kicks is really what makes this video.
The catchy Angry Birds theme music doesn’t hurt, either.
Whether you’re a sports enthusiast or not, you have to admit that these shots take a phenomenal amount of skill.
And what happens to the loser? Two words: yellow bird. Check it out:
