Amid rumors he and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model girlfriend Hannah Davis have split, Derek Jeter partied the night away on Sunday with about 30 “model-like women.”
The New York Post reports Jeter rented out the Arthur lounge inside the Meatpacking District’s Chester restaurant, where he hosted the women and several of his male friends. The private viewing party came with an open bar and open and featured the 40-year-old Jeter and his crew downing at least five bottles of $1,000 of Tequila Don Julio 1942.
Several media outlets have reported Davis was nowhere to be found and there have been recent rumblings she and the retired New York Yankees star appear on the outs. Reportedly, the two were last spotted together in New York and Miami sometime last month.
“Derek had a really great time partying with his guests and watching the game (Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals),” an eyewitness told The Post. “He was relaxed, happy and in a great mood. He mingled with the girls and was on the dance floor. He didn’t seem to be with one particular girl, he was definitely having fun.”
Jeter and his pals spent much of the rest of the night dancing to hip-hop tunes and didn’t leave the club until at least 2 a.m., all while Davis was missing in action and talk of her and Jeter’s split continued to percolate.
Since formally retiring at the end of the season, Jeter has made it a point of staying busy. He recently launched the The Players Tribune website and invested in high-tech men’s underwear brand FRIGO Revolution Wear.
Jeter played 20 big-league seasons, all with the Yankees. Over his career, he was a 14-time All-Star and five-time Gold Glove winner. Jeter won five titles with the Yankees and in 2000 was named World Series MVP.
