The Foothill High School football team in Palo Cedro, California, took a moment before their most recent game to honor senior cheerleader Ashley Adamietz who just learned last week that she has leukemia. As the football team came onto the field, each player placed an orange rose at her feet. Orange is the color designated to leukemia awareness.

According to the team’s coach, one of the players made the suggestion that they honor Ashley.

Since then, the hashtag #AshleyStrong has surfaced to show support and to praise the team for the act.
