I recently determined that there are 7 different roads I can take when I drive to my school. I select the roads I’m going to take depending on my desired outcome: shortest route when I’m running late, scenic route when I have time and need to unwind a little bit, route with the most curvy roads when I want to have fun driving, route with a Starbuck’s when I want to treat myself to coffee – you get the point.
With each route I achieve the same goal of reaching work but the means to achieve that goal are different – this is very similar to social media.
Road To Social Media
When you jump into social media for your school there are a few things that you’ll need to in order to be successful.
- Define your social media goals
- Determine the channel(s) you’ll utilize to help you achieve those goals
- Start using social media
- Measure your efforts
- Tweak your effort based upon the feedback in #4 and go back to #3
Using social media for your school is easier than you think but you need to take the first and most important step and start using it. I’ll never get to work unless I select a road and start my journey – social media is no different! Select your “road” and start using social media for your school today.
