Twitter Celebrities
The best and worst Twitter celebrities

I have a question for you, and I hope you’ll be honest. How many celebrities do you follow on Twitter? I understand that Twitter is an excellent professional tool and a way for people to connect, but can you hold back the temptation? The main appeal of Twitter for many Americans is the chance to connect with their favorite celebrities. From the Kardashians to Stephen Fry, people are flocking to Twitter. But who should you really follow? Let me explain.

Here are what I consider to be the 5 worst tweet-lebrities.

1. Mike “The Situation”

One of the most annoying people on the planet does not translate well into the twitterverse. 90% of his tweets are retweets from fans. Cool, right? Wrong. It seems like he needs to constantly remind himself, and everyone else in this public forum, that he is popular. We get it Mike, we don’t know why either.

2. Perez Hilton

Perez Hilton made his name as an influential entertainment blogger. Now he is famous and annoying. Getting a stamp of approval from Perez used to make a career, but it’s nothing to be proud of anymore. His schtick is less irreverent and more mean.

3. Britney Spears

Miss Spears will always be the queen of pop, but never the queen of Twitter. Your lucky to even get a tweet out of Brit herself, with her “people” doing most of the tweeting. Also included: boring family moments.

4. Charlie Sheen

We all know Charlie is winning, has goddesses and plenty of tiger blood to go around. We also know he is a crazy addict. Can we take much more of this man spiraling?

5. Barack Obama

So technically Baracks Twitter is a means for him to comment on current events and policies, but wouldn’t you rather him spill the details of life in the White House? Wouldn’t you rather hear the details of date night with Michelle? We can dream.

On a more positive note, here’sthe best of the best.

1. Mindy Kaling

You may know her as “The Office”’s resident stage 5 clinger, but Mindy is also a successful writer. He highest success may be her twitter. No plan or pattern, her tweets hit you out of the blue and always have me cracking up.

“The endless amount of circling of this police helicopter over my house can only mean that I am the murderer.”

2. Diablo Cody

The Oscar winning writer is makes time for her Twitter while working on her Showtime comedy, “The United States of Tara” and a new baby. Lots of fan interaction and news on her upcoming projects including her upcoming adaptation of “Sweet Valley High.”

“Watching an incredible documentary about two Armenian-American women and their struggle to open a boutique in Miami.”

3. Donald Glover

One part comedian and star of NBC’s “Community” and one part rapper and man behind Childish Gambino, he obviously have a lot going on. His tweets range from the hilarious to the poignant with a particularly hilarious rant after he discovered Jessica Alba was following him.

“All the trending topics now look like someone from South America and a 14 year old got in a fight about who could be more stupid.”

4. Charlie Sheen

No, I’m not pranking you. Charlie’s tweet are the best and the worst for the same reason. To answer my earlier question on Sheen, we can take a lot more of this downward spiral. Entertainment isn’t always nice folks.

“#WINNING”

5. Lady GaGa

The world has gone Gaga over Gaga and understandably so, she is quite the personality. It translates well over Twitter. Her content is uplifting and positive, her message is built around acceptance. Isn’t that something we could all use more of?

“Love is like a brick. You can build a house, or you can sink a dead body.”
