Twitter Facebook LinkedIn Flipboard 0 Pixabay Snapchat’s latest update is making everyday life a little less humdrum. Want to sound off an air horn? How about make it snow whenever you want? Or even add some golden butterflies into the picture? The social media network’s new World Lenses allow you to do just that and more. The iOS update brings a new type of filter to users. Gone are days when filters were only used to alter selfies, now you can apply a filter to the entire world around you, thus augmenting your reality. This update introduces seven filters, according to The Verge, which include rainbow-puking clouds, a vignette-effect flashlight, floating hearts and myserious indoor precipitation in the form of snowflakes. According to The Verge, “These new lenses were clearly designed for Spectacles, which will let wearers capture and digitally modify the world around them.” The effects work differently depending on whether the front- or rear-facing camera is used. Users can now send someone else’s Story as a snap to someone else, in addition to adding the ability to rewind. The Snapchat and Instagram Stories saga of taking pages out of each other’s books continues. Do you like the Snapchat update? What filter would you want to see added?
