Salman Khan is no more just a Bollywood celebrity. Today every producer wants his dates and every brand desires to endorse him. He is also known for his association with The Being Human Foundation. The clothing line initiative that he had started to support the needy people of the society has now grown into complete stores. In a recent press conference, he shared that the original Being Human clothing is available in their stores or in Shoppers Stop, Lifestyle, Splash and Jade Blue outlets.
Salman, who has been active on social media networks, made sure that his personal networks and the Being Human’s social presence both would be effectively used to create the buzz about the launch of the stores.
‘What do I wear today’ campaign
The official Facebook page of Salman Khan that has a fan following of 7.5 million launched the campaign – What Do I Wear Today. The Facebook campaign was launched a few days ago before the launch of the stores with a cool cover page (as seen below in the screen grab). Fans were asked to give suggestions on what Salman should wear.
As the days progressed, the campaign made a twist and asked fans to be innovative in their suggestions and three lucky fans could get a chance to meet the star in person. The incentive was enough for fans to go crazy and the content to go bit viral. The post that was shared on Facebook got more than a 1000 shares along with more than 6000 fans involving in a discussion.
The fans also got a treat from the super star in his own style. The page shared a small video where Salman shared the news about the launch with his fans. The video has been already shared by more than 1000 fans, commented by more than 1000 fans and liked by more than 19000 fans. The video was also shared on the Being Human page and it also fetched more than 1000 shares.
Post launch of the stores, the Facebook page of Salman Khan has been posting images about the different clothing line that he is wearing every day with a different set of people and how the Being Human foundation is getting associated with different initiatives within the society. The Being Human page which has been little behind in promotions is regularly posting content but they are more or less similar to the Salman Khan page.
The foundation that has started of with a clothing line plans to jump into restaurants and hospitals in the coming future. So I am hopeful that we could witness more integrated initiatives from Salman Khan and his social media team as they did during the launch of the Dabangg 2 last year.
