Promotions on social media seem to have no ending. According to AFAQS, PepsiCo has launched a new campaign to promote the new flavours of Lay’s. The company recently launched two new flavors – Lay’s Chile Limon and Lay’s French Salt & Cracked Pepper. To promote both the flavours, the brand has also launched a set of TVCs beginning with Chile Limon flavour. The Lay’s French Salt & Cracked Pepper, which will have a universal positioning would be unveiled after 20 days.
The Chile Limon TVC focuses on youth and enjoying lighter moments with friends. The TVC has been uploaded on YouTube yesterday and it has already got more than 14K views.
The brand has also updated the YouTube page with another video that also focused on promoting the Chile Limon flavor. In addition, the brand has made sure that fans on social networks – Facebook and Twitter are not left out of the excitement. On Facebook where the brand has more than 2M fans, it has been creating a buzz prior to the launch. The page has been posting some interesting visuals about the latest flavours and the recently launched TVC.
On Twitter the strategy has been the same where it has only 142 followers. The brand has been tweeting about the new flavours.

Launching flavors and creating conversations on social media has been a strategy that Lay’s India has followed for quite some time now. Last year during the IPL season, Lay’s had started the ‘Guess whose Flavour’ campaign in the beginning of April, where six new flavours were introduced. The contest roped in MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Yusuf Pathan, Christopher Gayle, Adam Gilchrist and Kevin Pietersen, as the six cricketers who had co-created a flavour each and one had to guess which cricketer has created which new flavour. ‘Guess whose flavour’ had an impressive presence on social media, with some really awesome goodies for the winners.
However, the same punch is lacking in the recent campaign on social media but we might have some surprises from Lay’s India with the IPL 6 coming closer.
