There are countless social media facts spinning around the tubes, but trying to make sense of them can be a struggle. We’ve contextualised them into irrelevant nuggets of information to make them even less coherent to understand.
1/ There are the same amount of videos watched online each month as there are stars in the galaxy.
2/ Facebook now has above 900 million users, over double the number of dogs in the world.
3/ More iPhones are sold every minute than people are born.
4/ Bloggers smash out a casual 2 million posts a day, enough for each American prisoner.
5/ 294 billion emails are sent every day. That’s an email for each dollar spent on Titanic.
6/ A staggering 70% of businesses ignore Twitter complaints, the same percentage of Americans that are overweight.
7/ On average, around 15 minutes of each internet user’s day are spent watching porn, around half the entire lifespan of a mayfly.
8/ There will be over one billion smart phones out there by 2015, roughly the population of Africa.
9/ There are over 175 million tweets created every day, more than the number of copies of the Twilight series sold so far.
10/ Two-thirds of people now have a social network profile of some sort, the same percentage of people that don’t know what QR codes are (presumably not the same people!).
11/ There have been over 10 billion app downloads from the Android Store, less than $3000USD worth if each cost a Zimbawean dollar.
12/ One million accounts are added to Twitter every day, the same number of pixels in a 1024×800 screen.
13/ Half of Pinterest users have kids and the average user earns a household income of over $100k, the same figure a couple paid to spend the day with Tim Tebow
14/ Twitter is expected to generate $259 million in ad revenue this year, also the estimated valuation of David Beckham’s LA Galaxy contract.
15/ Twitter has over 500 million registered users, the same amount of people that were on the earth during Elizabeth I’s reign.
What a load of crap. Show some sources
The sources are in the text as links. Make an effort before you post such a stupid comment.
Perfect comeback Joel – stop stupidity in it’s tracks! :)
Haha, thanks Tim.
This is great. Sent this out to thousands and thousands of our followers.

Glad you like it Mike, shame the original article doesn’t get as much love as B2C’s one, but they are our good friends so happy for them to enjoy the traffic.
