Warner Bros confirm the DC movies that will come out in the next 6 years. It seems as if Warner Bros is taking a page out of the book of Disney, who announced the slate of the upcoming Marvel films they have planned.
Warner Bros is planning to bring every DC Justice League member to the big screen. While this occurs, Sony is making a Spiderman world, Fox is moving forward with the X-Men, and Disney is handling everything else that is Marvel.
Warner Bros is bringing 10 DC films to theaters, from 2016-2022, and it all starts with Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice on March 25, 2016.
Ben Affleck is Batman, and Henry Cavill is reprising Superman. You can expect cameos from Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and Aquaman.
Warner Brothers have surprised us with the DC movie that is coming out after Batman and Superman duke it out, The Suicide Squad.
DC’s Suicide Squad is a different comic series, because it’s a team of super villains rather than squad of superheroes. This might be Warner Bros answer the Sinister Six, which is an upcoming film based on a team comprised of Spiderman villains.
Warner Bros will bring us Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot on June 23, 2017.
There has been a lack of female driven comic book movies, but we hope Wonder Woman will open the floodgates for superhero films with women as the leading role.
The DC comic book characters should be ready by then to form the Justice League, seeing the film is set to release November 12, 2017.
Warner Bros Justice League is the DC equivalent of Marvel’s Avengers. Expect it to be one of the big blockbusters that holiday season.
Ezra Miller is set to star in The Flash film, when it hits March 23, 2018.
Miller, known for Perks of Being a Wallflower has been chosen over Grant Gustin to play Barry Allen, aka The Flash.
Warner Bros has casted Jason Momoa as the lead role for Aquaman, which releases July 27, 2018.
Hopefully the Game of Thrones actor finally gives Aquaman the justice the character deserves.
DC’s Shazam, with Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam, is coming out April 5, 2019.
Warner Bros hasn’t released any other information on this upcoming film, all we know is The Rock is the bad guy.
The Justice League film is already going to be a hit, so Justice League 2 is confirmed for June 14, 2019.
Ray Fisher will have his first big screen solo role as Cyborg, which comes out on April 3, 2020.
There’s little doubt that Fisher won’t be an awesome Cyborg.
Finally, Warner Bros seeks to redeem themselves for tarnishing the legacy of the Green Lantern. A reboot is ready for June 19, 2020.
Since they probably won’t bring Ryan Reynolds back, they’ll either find a new Hal Jordan, or change the Green Lantern to the John Stewart variation.
Warner Bros and DC have an exciting 6 years ready for us. Their releases will rival Marvel at the box office, and they may make us choose sides when they come out.
