Kicking off the winners of the Tony Awards 2016 is Jayne Houdyshell for her role in “The Humans.”

Nominees included:

In her speech, she thanked her colleagues and said it was an honor to take the stage with everyone.

Houdyshell previously appeared in “Wicked” as Madame Morrible, Bye Bye Birdie, Romeo and Juliet and Fish in the Dark. Her film and television credits includen “Lucky Stiff” and “Law & Order: SVU.”

According to Broadway.com, the play is the story of a family Thanksgiving in Manhattan, which when “darkness falls outside the ramshackle pre-war duplex, eerie things start to go bump in the night. Soon, family tensions reach a boiling point and the hilarity, heart and horrors of the Blake clan are exposed.”

Previous winners in this category have included Audra McDonald for “A Raisin in the Sun,” Viola Davis for “King Hedley II” and Christine Baranski for “Rumors.”
