Happy World Read Aloud Day! Observed Feb 16, World Read Aloud Day celebrates literacy and the importance of sharing stories with one another.
According to LitWorld, World Read Aloud Day “motivates children, teens, and adults worldwide to celebrate the power of words and creates a community of readers taking action to show the world that the right to literacy belongs to all people.”
Some tips for reading aloud, from Words for Life, include doing different voices, going on a journey within your story and keeping the listener guessing. No only do these tips help create more of an experience for the listener and reader, they also promote memory building and understanding.
