If you’ve ever wanted to see the world one step at a time, then look no further than your own stairs. Using old maps, one woman gave her home’s stairs a fresh new look—and the creative design is inspiring a sense of wanderlust on social media.

According to Mashable, British children’s author Giles Paley-Phillips shared an image of the newly-decorated stairs on Sunday. He tweeted, “My wife decorated our stairs with some lovely old maps.” The design concept did not go unnoticed by social media users—who praised the idea of map-covered stairs. “That is very cool,” one Twitter user wrote.” Another user replied, “I love that!” The tweet has received over 9,000 likes and has been retweeted by more than 900 people.

Other unique staircase designs include chalkboard stairs, wallpaper-covered stairs and steps covered with lyrics and quotes.
