Tom Hanks is the hero we need right now. The actor recently gave journalists in the White House press corps the most important gift of all: the gift of caffeine. For the third time, Hanks has now gifted the reporters with a new espresso machine for the press room.

The $2,000 coffee maker was the third one Hanks has given to theWhite House press corps in 13 years, according to CNN. The first was in 2004 after he saw the press room had no basic coffee pot and again in 2010 after he realized the reporters “weren’t using it correctly.”

This time, the espresso machine came with a heartfelt typewritten note, which featured a WWII drawing from Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Bill Mauldin. It read: “Keep up the good fight for Truth, Justice, and the American Way. Especially for the Truth part.”

Many felt the gift was appropriate, especially during President Donald Trump’s current administration. Trump has blocked the press from attending a press briefing, called the media “the enemy of the American people” and often attacks the media as “fake news.”

Hanks’ gift will no doubt help reports continue their relentless pursuit of the truth. Who knew coffee could make such a powerful statement?
