TNT is currently in talks with DC Comics. The network hopes to create a pilot production for the comic book series Titans.

The one-hour live-action drama would center on Dick Grayson, the former Robin, who emerges from Batman’s shadow to become Nightwing, the leader of a band of heroes. Other popular characters from the group include Starfire and Raven.

Titans is being executive produced by  Akiva Goldsman (“Batman Forever”) with co-production credits by Marc Haimes (“The Last Word”). The show is being produced by Warner Horizon Television

Attempting to bring yet another comic book to the masses seems like a good idea these days. Networks have found success with the transition in recent years. Among recent popular television dramas to make the leap from comic to television are AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” ABC’s “Agents of SHIELD” and the CW’s “Arrow.”

This fall DC Comics will reveal “The Flash” on the CW, “Constantine” on NBC and “Gotham” on Fox.

This wouldn’t be the first time Titans made its way to TV. The cartoon series Teen Titans focused on the same characters and aired on Cartoon Network and WB. Teen Titans Go! also started airing on the Cartoon Network on 2013.

A DC Comics series airing on this particular television network gave this writer a good laugh — DC Comics actually has a character that goes by the name TNT.
