Twitter Facebook LinkedIn Flipboard 0 The godfather of most superhero genre of marvel Tim Burton admits that he’s tired of Marvels storytelling style. While promoting his new film ‘Big Eyes’ the famous director says: “Marvel, they have their thing and there’s a certain formula to it all which seems to still be working, but how many times can you say ‘you’re wearing a funny costume’ with the tights and stuff? That’s been going on for 20 years now. Yes, we all know that superheroes are damaged individuals. Maybe we need to see a happy superhero?” Tim Burton feels that a cheerful superhero will totally change the genre of marvel. Michael Keaton’s Batman wasn’t a cheery individual, yet he is a ton happier than any present superhero today. Burton discusses his “Batman” film: “I remember Batman getting so much flak and criticism at the time for being too dark and now 20-30 years later, it now looks like a light-hearted romp, it’s such a strange thing to go through.” If Burton wants a happy superhero film, why doesn’t he do it himself? The director seems to be getting sick of all the superhero movies that have been coming out. He says: The executive is by all accounts getting tired of all the superhero movies that have been turning out nowadays. If Burton wants a happy superhero film, why doesn’t he do it himself? According to Burton, “I think there is another superhero film in me, but I don’t know. You think we need more superhero movies? It keeps on going. It’s amazing how long it’s been going for and it just keeps getting stronger and stronger. Some day people will get sick of it.” Tim Burton’s ‘Big Eyes’ starring Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz is coming to cinemas on 26 December.
