Fifth Harmony is going on an indefinite hiatus to pursue solo careers, the girl group revealed Monday. Group members Dinah Jane, Ally Brooke, Lauren Jauregui and Normani Kordei reflected on the past and looked forward to the future in their official announcement that was posted to social media—and fans were left feeling incredibly emotional.

“After six years going hard, non stop, we also realized that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and to you, we do need to take some time for now to go on a hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue solo endeavors,” the group members wrote in a statement. “We are all very excited and grateful to be able to take this time to learn and grow creatively and really find our footing as individuals. In doing this we are allowing ourselves to gain new experiences, strengths and perspectives that we can bring back to our Fifth Harmony family.”

The group, which formed on “The X Factor” in 2012, are known for hits such as “Worth It” and “Work from Home.” As E! News reports, prior to the announcement, group members had already begun pursuing individual projects, including Jauregui’s collaboration with Steve Aoki and Kordei’s collaboration with Khalid, in addition to her “Dancing with the Stars” appearance. Former member and “Havana” singer Camila Cabello left the group in December 2016.

In the statement, the group members assured fans that the break would not have an impact on upcoming shows, which are still slated to take place through the end of 2018. Harmonizers responded to the news on Twitter and thanked the group for the past six years.
