Wake Up…Live Más. So goes the slightly altered slogan of a very well-known fast food chain, using it to promote their latest addition to the menu.

There is no doubt that Taco Bell is going all out with promoting their new breakfast menu, particularly for the Waffle Taco.  The big breakfast changes began being served March 27.

Their latest marketing ploy, however, involves Ronald McDonald. That’s right, Taco Bell used everyday people from across the country who just happen to share the name Ronald McDonald, McDonald’s long-time mascot. “I’m Ronald McDonald and I love Taco Bell’s new breakfast,” ends the commercial along with the disclaimer that the people selected aren’t affiliated with the McDonald’s Corporation (but were paid for their appearnaces)…”but man, they sure did love it.”

Taco Bell’s new breakfast menu includes their waffle taco, A.M.Crunchwrap, Cinnabon Delights and more. Their website also provides the nutritional information within each different food.

Some locations of other major fast food restaurants that have a breakfast menu, like McDonald’s and Wendy’s, are open until 10:30 a.m. This was Taco Bell’s response:


The new changes to Taco Bell’s menu and their new promotional tactic is clever but may still have a long time to catch up to McDonald’s, one of the leading fast food chains to serve breakfast.
