Robert Downey Jr.’ Iron Man Appearances To Reach Double Digits

Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man appearances might reach double digits for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. RDJ has no plans of slowing down as Tony Stark, and he has hinted at the fact that he will be playing Iron Man for a long time to come.

Downey Jr. first became Iron Man in 2008, a role Stan Lee claims he is born to play, and he is currently the most famous superhero because of his portrayal. Iron Man is currently the face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he might be for a while.

Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man appearances could be double digits for Marvel movies. Downey has hinted at his future as Tony Stark saying, “You know, it may verge on double digits, but it will probably wind up being a little shy.” He has also said that being Iron Man is a commitment, but he loves it.

RDJ is set to reprise Tony Stark for quite sometime, and his future as the metal clad superhero is not just limited to just Iron Man films. Downey’s next Iron Man appearance is in ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’. He’s also going to be in ‘Captain America 3’, where he will be pitted against Steve Rogers to declare Civil War.

If you include his cameo at the end of ‘The Incredible Hulk’, and his upcoming ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ and ‘Captain American 3’ appearances, he has played Tony Stark seven times.

Downey Jr. can end up in the two-part split Avengers film, based on the Infinity War storyline. It is also possible that the Avengers could feature a different line-up by the time the film goes into production.

RDJ has teased Iron Man 4 on The Ellen DeGeneres Show not long ago, when he tried to beat around the bush, but ultimately says Iron Man 4 is coming. That may or may not be is last appearance as Tony Stark.

Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man appearances can be double digits for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. RDJ is the face of the MCU, and there aren’t many other actors that can don the mantle of Tony Stark the way he does.
