Warning! Warning! Swooning fan alert! Ok, full disclosure: I’ve never heard of Paul Pfau until tonight on “The Voice.” I am not a life long fan. I’m not family. I have no ties to him. I am a new fan. I am definitely now a fan of Paul Pfau. He is exactly what I imagine the winner of this season of “The Voice” to be. I’ve watched every season of this show. I’m not sure if I’ve ever heard a voice that I’ve been so excited about as I have listening to Paul Pfau. His performance was flawless. Actually, the word I used to describe it to my husband was “delicious.”
I know that sounds strange. I’ve never, ever called someone’s voice delicious. Paul Pfau, my friend, your voice is delicious. It’s velvety and smooth and everything I’ve been waiting to hear on this show. If you follow my posts, you know I love crooners. That means I adored his song choice. It was a perfect selection to showcase his voice. Naturally, I went into the after-song interview thinking he was a crooner. Paul surprised everyone (me included) by saying he has a wide range of styles that go from blues to rock and roll. What?! Ok, so if I wasn’t intrigued by his spot-on performance, I was when I heard that my home boy, Paul Pfau, can sing blues and rock and roll in addition to crooning.
One of the most fascinating parts of Paul’s story is that (like many guys his age) he grew up with Adam Levine as a role model. Ten years ago he was able to go backstage at a Maroon 5 concert and wanted to give Adam a demo CD. He chickened out and never did. Tonight, Adam really wanted Paul to join his team. The problem was that Adam’s team was full. Although he won’t be coached by his idol, he was finally able to give Adam his demo CD.
Paul Pfau’s “Fly Me to the Moon” is so bawse that Adam wants him THIS BAD… #VoiceBlinds pic.twitter.com/ct00sIzdbi
